Fast Answer
Does NTE have a 50/50 system like Genshin or WuWa?
- No — NTE has no 50/50. Every limited S-rank pull IS the featured character
- Hard pity at 90 pulls: if you reach 90 without an S-rank, you get the featured unit automatically
- Soft pity at 70 pulls: S-rank rate jumps from ~1.87% to ~19.59% per roll
- Pity carries over between limited banners of the same type — no progress is wasted
- Arc (weapon) banner is different: 25/75 split, hard pity at 80 pulls worst case
Scarborough Fair is NTE's name for the gacha system. Instead of a standard pull animation, you roll dice and move a game piece called a Chuppa across a board — each tile you land on is your reward.
How Scarborough Fair Works
Each pull spends one die and moves your Chuppa token 1–6 tiles forward on a Monopoly-style board. The tile you land on is your reward — there is no separate animation. Solid Dice are used on limited character boards; Fabricated Dice are used on the standard (Strange Encounters) board. Both single pulls and 10-pulls are available on character boards.
The board is not static. As your pull count climbs toward pity, the layout reshuffles — low-value tiles are replaced by higher-value ones. Two special board features exist: the Rainbow Bridge, which routes you to a Secret Fair side board with denser rewards, and Slumberland tiles, which spawn a Guardian nine spaces ahead that rewards 30 Warp Pieces if you catch it within three rolls.
Tile types on the Scarborough Fair board
| Tile | Reward |
|---|---|
| Apprentice Chest | Chance for S-rank character or B-rank Arc |
| Hero Chest | Higher chance for S-rank character or B-rank Arc |
| Journey Together | Guaranteed featured character on that tile |
| Miracle Box | Random A-rank Arc |
| Lost Check Box | Lost Pieces (shown on tile) |
| Warp Chess Box | Warp Pieces (shown on tile) |
| Slumberland | Spawns Guardian 9 tiles ahead — catch within 3 rolls for 30 Warp Pieces |
| Outfit/Vehicle/Glider | Cosmetic skins for featured character or rideables |
Pity System — Soft Pity, Hard Pity, and Carryover
NTE's pity system is more player-friendly than most gacha games. Soft pity kicks in early and the guaranteed S-rank is always the featured character — no coin flip.
Character banner pity thresholds
| Pull range | S-rank rate | Board state |
|---|---|---|
| 1–69 | ~1.87% per pull | Standard tile layout |
| 70–89 | ~19.59% per pull | Hero Chests replaced with Journey Together tiles |
| 90 | 100% | Roll skipped — featured character awarded automatically |
Hard pity at 90 resets your count to zero. Pity carries over between limited banners of the same type — if you reach pull 60 on one limited banner without an S-rank, your next limited banner starts at pull 60, not zero. Standard banner pity works the same way but is tracked separately from limited banner pity.

No 50/50 — What It Means vs Other Gacha Games
In most gacha games (Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves), when you hit an S-rank on a limited banner, there is a 50% chance it is the featured character and a 50% chance it is a random standard character. If you lose the coin flip, you need another full pity cycle to guarantee the featured unit — in the worst case, doubling your pull cost.
NTE eliminates this entirely. Every S-rank you pull from a limited Scarborough Fair board is the featured character. There is no coin flip, no consolation standard character, no "losing" the banner. One full pity cycle (90 pulls max) guarantees exactly the unit you are targeting.
NTE vs other gacha — pity comparison
| Game | Hard pity | 50/50? | Worst-case pulls for featured |
|---|---|---|---|
| NTE | 90 | No | 90 pulls |
| Wuthering Waves | 80 | Yes | ~160 pulls |
| Genshin Impact | 90 | Yes | ~180 pulls |
Arc Research Program — Weapon Banner Rules
Weapons are called Arcs in NTE. The Arc Research Program is the weapon banner and uses Tri-Keys instead of dice. Pulls are in 10-pull batches only — no singles. The system is different from the character banner in one important way: there IS a split.
Arc banner pity
| Attempt (10-pull) | S-rank Arc rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1–5 | 3% base / 4.19% effective | 25% chance = featured Arc |
| 6th attempt (60 pulls) | 100% S-rank | If non-featured: 75% chance it's standard |
| 7th attempt | — | If you got standard at 60: 75% chance featured |
| 8th attempt (80 pulls) | 100% | Guaranteed featured Arc in worst case |
Arc pity also carries over between limited Arc rotations. World bosses can drop strong Arcs, so saving Tri-Keys for a main DPS signature Arc is often the safer choice over pulling the weapon banner early.
Skin & Cosmetic Pity
Character outfits, vehicle skins, and glider skins drop from specific tiles on limited boards. Each type has its own pity ceiling tracked separately from character pity.
| Skin type | Hard pity | Carries over between banners? |
|---|---|---|
| Glider skin | 50 pulls | No — resets each banner |
| Vehicle skin | 120 pulls | No — resets each banner |
| Character skin | 200 pulls | No — resets each banner |
Skin pity is NOT preserved between different banners — unlike character pity, it only applies to that specific skin's future rerun. If a banner ends at pull 40 toward a glider skin, that progress is held only for if that exact skin returns.
NTE Scarborough Fair FAQ
Does NTE really have no 50/50?
Yes. On limited character banners (Scarborough Fair Limited Boards), every S-rank you pull is the currently featured character. There is no coin flip and no chance of receiving a standard character instead. This is confirmed by Hotta Studio and applies to all limited character banners.
Does pity carry over when a banner ends in NTE?
Yes — for limited character banners. Your pull count and pity progress carry over to the next limited character banner of the same type. Standard banner pity is tracked separately. Skin pity does NOT carry over between different banners.
What happens at pull 90 in NTE?
At pull 90 the dice roll is skipped entirely and the featured character is awarded automatically. Because there is no 50/50, this is always the limited featured unit. Your pity then resets to zero and carry-over begins accumulating toward the next banner.
What is the difference between Solid Dice and Fabricated Dice?
Solid Dice are for limited character boards (the Featured Scarborough Fair boards). Fabricated Dice are for the permanent standard banner (Strange Encounters). Both are converted from Annulith at 160 Annulith per pull. Using the wrong dice type on the wrong banner is not possible — the game only accepts the correct type on each board.
Is the Arc weapon banner worth pulling on?
It depends on your character and budget. The Arc banner has a 25/75 featured split — unlike the character banner, you can receive a non-featured Arc on your first S-rank. Worst case is 80 pulls (8 attempts of 10) for a guaranteed featured Arc. World bosses drop strong standard Arcs for free, so most F2P players save Tri-Keys for their main DPS signature weapon only.
How does NTE pity compare to Wuthering Waves?
WuWa has a 50/50 on limited character banners with hard pity at 80 pulls. Worst case for a guaranteed featured character is ~160 pulls. NTE has no 50/50 with hard pity at 90 pulls — worst case is always 90 pulls for the featured character. WuWa has higher monthly pull income which partially offsets this, but NTE's no-50/50 guarantee makes budgeting much more predictable.
